PROJECTS - RIVERSIDE GARDENS -
DESCRIPTION: HOUSE EXTENSION
PROJECT LOCATION: EH21
COMPLETED: SPRING 2009
PROJECT INFORMATION:
This bespoke Musselburgh project created a large contemporary lounge to the rear of the house. Contrasting the traditional style of the existing house, the extension was constructed in buff facing brick, treated western red cedar cladding and timber glazed screens.
The concept for this project was based upon the idea of a ‘disappearing corner’ to the room. Sliding screens to the corner could be opened, giving access to a wrap around deck - allowing impromptu alfresco seating for the clients many barbecue parties.
The internal space was further enhanced by the introduction of a lightwell within the room, thus allowing sunlight to access the space throughout the day.
The clients were overjoyed with the design, and the finished project.
