PROJECTS - WEST PARK -
DESCRIPTION: HOUSE EXTENSION + INTERNAL ALTERATIONS
PROJECT LOCATION: KY12
COMPLETED: SPRING 2007
PROJECT INFORMATION:
A project between our clients and Fife Council to adapt and extend a family home for disabled use.
After discussing the family’s requirements, it was decided that the most appropriate way to proceed was to adapt their existing lounge into a bedroom and the cloakroom was adapted to form a wet room. The second aspect of the project involved extending to the rear of the property, in order to replace the existing lounge with a new living space. This new extension took advantage of being located in a secluded garden, and with the incorporation of a large glazed screen, resulted in the creation of a bright space all year round and with easy wheelchair access between the home and garden.
Regular dialogue between client, OT’s and ourselves ensured that the specific design requirements were incorporated into the design of the home.
