PROJECTS - DUDLEY AVENUE -

DESCRIPTION: HOUSE EXTENSION + INTERNAL ALTERATIONS

PROJECT LOCATION: EH6

COMPLETED: SPRING 2007

PROJECT INFORMATION:

This contemporary addition to a traditional stone building has completely transformed the house by creating a new ‘hub’ for this family home. The extension has provided a large ergonomically designed kitchen / dining room which is both functional as well as a pleasant area for entertaining.

The corner site had limited garden ground for extending to the side, and while the extension is not visible from the front street, a curved section for the new kitchen made optimum use of what was previously ‘dead’ space. The incorporation of glazed screens has made the house more accessible to the garden, and the landscaped garden has also been used more frequently for al fresco dining.

The existing kitchen and dining room of the house was re-configured to provide a master bedroom with en-suite facilities.
